5. Succulents
Succulents are everywhere! They are easy to care for and come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Succulents are the perfect introduction to gardening for those who feel a bit intimidated keeping something alive. Succulents have fleshy leaves that store water. Give Succulents the same care as you would cacti (cacti are a distinct group of succulents). The social news site Buzzfeed thinks succulents are the “best plants ever” and has some great ideas for how to use them.
Most succulents have a rosette shape while others can be trailing or upright. With age, the stems may become woody. Succulents can be grown indoor in a high light area and then moved outside in late spring through the summer. 4. Snake Plant
Often called the Mother-In-Law’s Tongue, this plant (Sanseveria) comes in fantastic shades of greens, whites, yellows and blues. The Snake Plant can tolerate from low to bright light. Water the plant moderately from spring to autumn but allow it to dry out between waterings. The Snake Plant may be pruned to soil level to keep the foliage looking fresh.

The Fiddle Leaf Fig may be one of the most stylish and popular houseplants. You would be hard pressed to flip through the pages of a great design magazine and not see at least one room with a Fiddle Leaf Fig tucked in the corner or acting as an anchor to a room’s look and feel.
Fiddle Leaf Figs are the largest leaved variety of Ficus that will produce a handsome tree for your indoor garden. They can slowly grow up to 10 feet tall, prefer indirect or bright light and average house temperature. It is best to allow the soil to dry out between watering.
